RE:VIEW – Wozu die Menschheit retten?
We Mind Publishing
The RE book, published by We Mind Publishing, starts from one of the questions connected to ESA’s Hera mission: if humanity can develop technologies capable of protecting Earth from an asteroid impact, does it deserve to be saved?
The publication brings together science, artificial intelligence and philosophical reflection, building from Hera’s perspective a dialogue with voices from art, culture and society. Across 400 pages, scientific imagery, interviews and experimental graphic compositions create a visual narrative in which information and speculation continuously intersect.
The physical production plays an important role in this visual language. Different papers, reflective surfaces and highly distinctive colours transform the publication into an object in which printing and finishing are closely connected to the editorial concept.
Production Highlights
Special colour printing
Silver, fluorescent orange and black are printed in different combinations and overlaps, creating layered graphic effects throughout the publication.
Alternating paper stocks
The interior alternates uncoated and coated papers, introducing changes in surface and image response across the different sections.
Metallic cover
The hardcover features a glossy silver metallic-effect surface combined with UV screen printing. A 30 mm circular die-cut opening on the front cover completes the graphic construction.
Fluorescent edges
All three edges are finished in fluorescent orange, extending one of the key colours of the interior graphics onto the book block and creating a strong contrast with the silver cover.
