Project Description

The catalogue of the show IS, at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, celebrates the iconic star David Bowie and his brilliant career.
It takes a look at fifty years in the life of the chameleon-like celebrity. It brings together hand-written versions of his most famous songs, costumes, drawings and photographs (by such masters as Helmut Newton, Herb Ritts and Brian Duffy), as well as album covers, storyboards, and music videos, not to mention 60 costumes for Bowie’s alter ego, Ziggy Stardust, designed by Freddie Burretti.
It is a glittering vision of the multi-faceted figure of Bowie that highlights the effect he has had on contemporary culture.
